Wimbledon Finals

"May the net always be friendly.
May your serve always be true.
May your strokes always be quicker
than the shots hit back to you.

May your backhand be a weapon.
May your forehand always spin.
May all the shots you aim at lines
always be called 'in.'"

~ A Blessing for a Tennis Player, Daniel Mark

Anyone for tennis? Wimbledon—the world’s oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament—has graced the grass courts of the All England Club since 1877. Steeped in tradition, it’s known for Royal patronage, the time-honored treat of strawberries and cream, and its famously strict dress code.

For players, nearly all-white clothing is still a must—from shirts to shoes, even underlayers and wristbands—allowing only the faintest trim of color. Spectators, however, enjoy a bit more flair. Smart casual is the norm, and if you're tempted to make a statement, a kilt in this tartan would certainly turn heads—though it might be a tad warm under the July sun.

No. 2 Court remains the infamous “Graveyard of Champions”, having witnessed surprise early-round exits from legends like McEnroe, Agassi, Serena, and Sharapova. This year’s tournament runs from June 30 to July 13, 2025—and today, the world’s eyes are on the men’s finals, where one champion will be crowned.

So whether you're right there on Centre Court or cheering from afar, may your fashion be fresh, your forehand sharp—and your day filled with grand-slam excitement. Game. Set. Match. 💙 🤍 💛 🎾 🎾 🎾 🍓 🍓 🍓 🏆

The Championships, commonly known as Wimbledon, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and one of the most prestigious. It has been held at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London since 1877.

One of of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, including the Australian Open, the French Open and the US Open, Wimbledon is the only major tournament still played on grass.

Modern tennis has been around since the mid 1800s, when two friends Harry Gem and Augurio Perera developed the game on Perera’s lawn in England.  However, its origins can be traced back to twelfth century France, where it was played by hitting the ball with the hands instead of a racket.  King Louis X was a devotee of this game, then called jeu de paume (“game of the palm”).
