Australia Day
"I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!"
~ My Country, Dorothea Mackeller, 1908
G'day and Happy Australia Day to all Aussies and ex-pats celebrating Australia Day, the official national day of Australia. The 26th of January marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales, and the raising of the Flag of Great Britain at Sydney Cove by Governor Arthur Phillip. This tartan celebrates Australia with colours of blue for the Oceans; red for the strikingly colored soils; yellow for gold and other minerals; white for the sandy beaches; and grey for Australia's necessary rains. 🇦🇺
Happy Australia Day!
A fashion tartan for everyday wear to celebrate Australia and all it stands for: blue for the Oceans; red for the soils; yellow representing gold for the minerals; white for the sandy beaches and grey for Australia's necessary rains. It was designed in collaboration with the designers at The House of Edgar, a division of Macnaughton Holdings Ltd.
