Hogmanay

"Kiss me at midnight!"

Although the tradition of kissing on the eve of the new year dates back to the ancient Roman Festival of Saturnalia, the more recent folklore behind this tradition holds that the first person you encounter in a new year – and the type of encounter you have – sets the tone for the rest of the year.

Designed by Carol A.L. Martin, this dark black, burgundy, Tyrian purple, and carmine-lipped tartan describes "what happens at midnight on New Year's Eve."
