"You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true,
And unafraid of toil."

~ The Sorting Hat, J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Has the Sorting Hat placed you in House Hufflepuff under Headmistress Pomona Sprout? Well, here's your (unofficial) tartan! Hufflepuff is one of the four houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter novels and movies. The house colors are yellow and black; the corresponding element is earth; and the mascot is a badger!

From the Harry Potter Universe, today is set aside for all those who identify with House Hufflepuff!  Here is one of four unofficial whimsical tartans designed for the four houses of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Designed by Dan Shackelford, all of the house tartans use a grey and black background representing Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. From the designer:

"Hufflepuff is one of the four houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter novels and movies. Their house colors are yellow and black, their element is earth and their animal is a badger."

Hufflepuff values hard work, patience, justice, and loyalty. The house mascot is the badger, and canary yellow and black are its colours. The Head of this house is the Herbology teacher Pomona Sprout, and the house ghost is The Fat Friar. According to Rowling, Hufflepuff corresponds roughly to the element of earth. The founder of this house is Helga Hufflepuff.
