Worldwide in nearly all Scout associations, Founders' Day is celebrated on the 22nd of February, the birthday of Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting. This year's 2019 24th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Glen Jean, West Virginia, US, at the Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve in July and August.

Lieutenant-General Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell (born in 1857) was a British Army officer, writer, and author of Scouting for Boys which was an inspiration for the Scout Movement. He was the founder and first Chief Scout of The Boy Scouts Association and founder of the Girl Guides.
The 24th World Scout Jamboree 2019, hosted by the United States, is an officially sanctioned event of the World Organization of the Scouting Movement (WOSM), with young people from 163 National Scouting Organisations representing more than 200 nations and territories taking part.
The hosting duties will be split between the Boy Scouts of America, Scouts Canada, and Asociación de Scouts de México. The theme for 2019 is "Unlock a New World."
"Jamboree" is considered an Americanism that traces back to 1860–65 and refers to a joyful, noisy gathering.

"Colours: red, the base colour of the tartan, appearing in all 3 host country flags, represents fire and blood, associated with energy and strength; white also appears in the flags and the WOSM logo and is associated with light, goodness and purity; green, the colour of nature symbolises growth and harmony and Scouting's commitment to the environment; blue, the colour of the sky and sea, another link to the environment, symbolises trust, loyalty, wisdom, faith and truth, all elements of the Scout Law; purple represents WOSM and its worldwide membership and is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery and magic; yellow represents sunshine and is associated with joy, happiness, intellect and energy."
Although many Scottish boy scout troops wear kilts, Scouting has a special relationship with Clan MacLaren and the MacLaren tartan.
