Christmas Eve

"🎶 We three kings of Orient are,
bearing gifts we traverse afar
Field and fountain moor and mountain
following yonder star."

~ We Three Kings, John Henry Hopkins Jr., 1857

This tartan was inspired by the spirit of Christmas with colours representing the Gifts of the Magi: green for Frankincense; red for Myrrh and yellow for gold, the colour of kingship. Merry Christmas and the compliments of the season to all! 👑👑👑

'Twas the night before Christmas ...

From the official register:

This tartan was created by Tartans 4 Africa, South Africa in 2011 to commemorate the Christian festival of Christmas, at which the birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated. The word "Christmas" does not occur anywhere in the Bible. It is an old English word meaning "Christ's Mass" which refers to the celebration of the Lord's Supper, i.e. the Mass.

This tartan is inspired by the spirit of Christmas. Colours: green represents Frankincense; red represents Myrrh and yellow represents gold, the colour of kingship. Gold, frankincense and myrrh are the gifts given to the Baby Jesus by the three Kings in the nativity story, each symbolic of Jesus' life and death.

Happy and Merry Christmas!
