This tartan was created to celebrate the Columbia Icefields located in the Canadian Rockies. Over 100 ancient glaciers span the majestic Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper. The Athabasca Glacier that spills from the Columbia Icefield is the most accessible glacier in North America and one of the world's most visited. The tartan’s individual threads and colours, woven and layered together, is intended to represent the creation of the glaciers, which form over tens of thousands of years from individual snowflakes layered together.
