Motto: "Semper Fidelis" For those who died in service to their country, we remember your sacrifice and extend our thoughts and gratitude to the families and loved ones as well.

This tartan is one of a series of US Military tartans woven by the Strathmore Woollen Company of Forfar (and also Locharron), for the Marine Corps Historical Foundation (although it has no official US Military recognition). Designed in 1986 by Bob Hall of Tallahassee, USA and Ruraidh MacLeod of Auchtermuchty (a member of the Scottish Tartans Society) it is intended for the US Marine Corps, founded on the 10th of November 1775 by an act of the Continental Congress. A brighter color variant of this tartan by the same designers, "Leatherneck" is also woven by the same mills and is the second of two tartans often sold as a "US Marine Corps" tartan.
